My name is Arushi Gupta, and I'm a senior at the University of Michigan pursuing a BA in Public Policy, with a focus on economic development & human rights, and a minor in Writing. I was born in New Delhi, India, but my parents and I moved to New Jersey when I was three years old.

Although the idea for this website began with my capstone for the Sweetland Writing Center, I like to think of it as a long-term project that I will continue building into the future. It is a tribute to my family and a snapshot of moments in time that can only be relived as stories. I hope you enjoyed reading the short essays, listening to my conversations with my family, and getting to know us a little better.

Khandan tells my story, but I hope that it inspires you to tell yours. Have a conversation with your family, take a moment to reflect on where you've been and where you're going, and write down those stories before they are forgotten.
